Additional Information

Isotype IgM  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone 10E4-R5
Description Astrocytes (also known collectively as astroglia) are the most plentiful and diverse of the glial cells. They have a characteristic star-shape and are found in the brain. They perform many functions, including biochemical support of endothelial cells which form the blood-brain barrier, the provision of nutrients to the nervous tissue, and a principal role in the repair and scarring process in the brain. This antibody is suitable as an astrocyte marker and for studies associated with their functions, using immunochemical techniques.
Specificity Anti-Astrocytes (clone 10E4/R5) recognizes a (Mr 180-200 kD) protein. Antigen Distribution: The antigen recognized by this antibody is present on the cell surface of astrocytes.
