Additional Information

Alternative name Cytokeratin 5
Immunogen BALB/C mice were injected with prokaryotic recombinant protein corresponding to 103 amino acid portion of C-terminal region of the human cytokeratin 5 molecule.
Format Supernatant
Isotype IgG1 kappa  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone XM26
Specificity This antibody reacts with cytokeratin 5 intermediate filament protein. Basal cells of human epidermis express acidic cytokeratin 14 and basic cytokeratin 5. Cytokeratin 5 is a 58 kD protein, which is closely related to cytokeratin 6. Cytokeratin 5 and 6 are expressed in basal cell epithelioma, basal cells of prostate, urothelium, vagina, squamous cell carcinomas of skin, tongue, epiglottis and rectal-anal region. Cytokeratin 5 can be useful in the distinction of mesotheliomas from most adenocarcinomas.

Application Details

Application Notes Titer/Working Dilution: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:50-1:75 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the end user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Positive Control: Skin. Cellular localization: Cytoplasmic
Concentration 100ug/ml approximately
Buffer This antibody is supplied as culture supernatant containing sodium azide as preservative.
Storage Store the antibody at 2-8o c. Do not use it beyond the expiration date stated on the label.
Research Area Extracellular Matrix
Restrictions For Research Use. CE-certified for In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) Use in the European Union
