| Description | CD48 is a 45 kD GPI-anchored glycoprotein, also known as BCM1, Blast-1 (human), or OX-45 (rat). It is a member of the Ig superfamily, expressed on T and B cells, and monocytes/macrophages. It plays a role in adhesion and T cell recognition. The primary ligands for CD48 are CD2 and CD244. The HM48-1 antibody is useful for blocking in vitro and in vivo CD48 mediated interactions. Distribution: T and B cells, monocytes/macrophages Function: Adhesion, T cell recognition Synonyms: BCM1, Blast-1 (human), OX-45 (rat) Structure: Ig superfamily, 45 kD |

Application Details: CD48 Mouse (Murine) antibody
| Application | Flow Cytometry (FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Costimulation, Blocking Antibody (BLOCK), Inhibition Assay (Inhib) |
| Application Notes | Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: immunoprecipitation, costimulation of T cell proliferation, blocking of CD48-CD2 interaction, and inhibition of CTL activity and graft rejection. The LEAF(TM) purified antibody (Endotoxin <0.1 EU/µg, Azide-Free, 0.2 µm sterile-filtered) is recommended for functional assays (ABIN155858). Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, the suggested use of this reagent is < 0.25 µg per 10 cells in 100 µl volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application. |
| Conjugate | LEAF |
| Purification | The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography. |
| Buffer | Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing no preservative. 0.2 µm filter sterilized. Endotoxin level is < 0.1 EU/µg of the protein (< 0.01 ng/µg of the protein) as determined by the LAL test. |
| Storage | The antibody solution should be stored undiluted at 4 °C. This LEAF(TM) solution contains no preservative, handle under aseptic conditions. |
