| Specificity | Reacts with CRF. Does not react with bovine serum albumin, insulin, ovalbumin or epidermal growth factor. Expected to react with rat CRF, although not tested. Recognises a different epitope than clone 5D5 (ABIN111806). The unique lysine residue (Lys-36) is likely to be involved in the antigenic determinant of this antibody. Lysine modification by CA blocks binding completely. Human serum, containing CRF-binding protein, inhibits the binding of CRF to this antibody. Dissociation constant: Averages 10(e)-9 M with native and modified CRF. |

| Application Notes | ELISA (High binding constant allows this antibody to be used in a sandwich ELISA with clone number 5D5 (ABIN111806), Sensitivity: 25 pg/ml). Immunohistochemistry on paraffin embedded sections (1/100 – 1/7000, A 1 ug/ml dilution has given good results on paraffin sections after microwave pre-treatment, Enzyme digestion with 0.1% trypsin may also be necessary. ABC is recommended for detection). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
