Specificity Death Effector Filament-forming Ced-4-like Apoptosis Protein (DEFCAP) is a novel apoptotic protein of the mammalian Ced-4 family. It has two isoforms: DEFCAP-L and DEFCAP-S. The deduced amino acid sequences of these two alternately spliced isoforms only differ by 44 amino acids at the c-terminus. DEFCAP contains a caspase recruitment domain (CARD), a domain that with the proper stimulation can recruit caspases to form cytoplasmic structures called death effector filaments, which in turn initiate the apoptotic signaling pathway. This antibody reacts with human DEFCAP (CT).

Application Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blotting (WB)
Application Notes ELISA (0.1 – 1.0 ug/ml), Western blot (0.5 – 2ug/ml, a ~165 kDa band should be detected) and Immunoprecipitation (3.0 – 5.0 ug/extract from 107 cells). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Buffer This antibody is supplied as liquid epitope affinity purified immunglobulin fraction in Phosphate buffered saline with 0.02% sodium azide as preservative.
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 4-8°C for one month or at –20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
