Beschreibung Death Effector Filament-forming Ced 4 like Apoptosis Protein (DEFCAP) is a novel apoptotic protein of the mammalian Ced 4 family. It has two isoforms: DEFCAP-Land DEFCAP-S. The deduced amino acid sequences of these two alternately spliced isoforms only differ by 44amino acids at the C-terminus. DEFCAP contains a caspase recruitment domain (CARD), a domain that with the proper stimulation can recruit caspases to form cytoplasmic structures called death effector filaments, which in turn initiate the apoptotic signaling pathway.

Applikation ELISA, Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blotting (WB)
Applikationshinweise Immunoprecipitation: use at a concentration of 3.0-5.0 ug / extract from 10^7 cells. Western Blotting: use at a concentration of 0.5-2.0 ug/ml. ELISA: use at a concentration of 0.1-1.0 ug/ml. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user. By Western blot, this antibody detects a band of approximately 165 kDa in rat brain tissue lysate, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of DEFCAP. Sample wasboiled prior to subjecting on 7.5% SDS-PAGE. An ~80 kDa band was also observed in this blot.
