Specificity	Five distinct DNA ligase activities, I-V, have been identified in mammalian cell extracts. One of these enzymes, LIG1 is central to DNA replication. During DNA replication, the joining of Okazaki fragments by the LIG1 gene product appears to be mediated by an interaction with proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA). LIG1 participates in nucleotide excision and base excision repair.

Application Notes	Western blot: 1/500 – 1/1000. Recommended positive control: HeLa. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Buffer	This antibody is supplied as liquid, Protein G affinitiy purified IgG in PBS, pH 7.2, with 1 mg/ml and 0.02% sodium azide.
Storage	Store the antibody at 4°C for one month or at –20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
