Description	Epstein-Barr-Virus ist ein Mitglied der Herpes-Viridae und ursächlich mit der Entstehung von infektiöser Mononucleose verbunden. EBV-Infektionen werden außerdem mit verschiedenen Tumoren in Verbindung gebracht. In der Regel wird EBV bei Burkitt's Lymphom und nasopharyngealen Karzinomen gefunden, außerdem bei 40-50 % aller Hodgkin-Lymphome. Ferner sind ca. 20-30 % der anplastischen CD30+-Großzell-Lymphome EBV positiv.Das monoklonale Antikörper-Cocktail reagiert stark mit EBV-infizierten lymphoblastoiden Zelllinien und infizierten B-Zell-Immunoblasten bei infektiöser Mononucleose und atypischen Lymphoproliferationen bei immunsupprimierten Patienten. Er ist positiv bei ca. 25-30 % undifferenzierter nasopharyngealer Karzinome und 40-50% Morbus Hodgkin.
