Specificity The antiserum was raised against a synthetic C-terminal peptide of GAP-43. Absorption with 10-100 µg immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining. GAP-43, also called neuromodulin, B-50, pp46 and F1, is a neuron-specific, membrane-associated phosphoprotein involved in axonal growth and found in neurons undergoing regeneration. Recommended for Positive Control: Rat duodenum.

Application Immunohistochemistry (Frozen Sections) (IHC (fro)), Immunofluorescence (IF)
Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections. Immunofluorescence microscopy: 1:400 – 1:800 using fluorescence, with overnight incubation at 2-8°C. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Buffer This antibody is supplied as lyophilised serum. Dissolve the antiserum in 50 – 100 µl distilled water, and dilute further in 0.1 M PBS with 1% BSA and 0.1% sodium azide.
Storage Store the antibody at 2-8°C (undiluted) or at -20°C (aliquots). Avoid repeated freezing and thawi ng. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
