Description Epitope tagging is a widely accepted technique that fuses an epitope peptide to a target protein as a marker for gene expression. With this technique, the gene expression can be easily monitored by Western blotting, immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence utilizing with an antibody that recognizes the epitope tag. Amino acid sequences that are commonly used for epitope tagging include YPYDVPDYA (HA-Tag), EQKLISEEDL (Myc-Tag) and YTDIEMNRLGK (VSV-G-Tag), which correspond to the partial peptide sequences of Influenza hemagglutinin protein, Human c-myc gene product and Vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein, respectively.

Application Western Blotting (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Application Notes Western blotting : 1:1000 for chemiluminescence detection system. Immunoprecipitation: 1 µl / 200 µL of cell extract from 2x10 6 cells. Immunohistochemistry: Not recommended. Immunocytochemistry : 1:200. Flow Cytometry: Not tested.
Buffer Supplied in 100 µL PBS containing 50% glycerol, pH 7.2. Contains no preservatives.

Immunoprecipitation of HA-Tag from 293T/pcDNA-HA-tagged protein cell lysate with rabbit IgG (1) and anti-HATag-Agarose (2). After immunoprecipitated with the antibody, immunocomplex was resolved on SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with ABIN130391.
