  • Target

    HSP27 (HSPB1) (Heat Shock 27kDa Protein 1 (HSPB1))

    Alternative Name

    HSPB1 / HSP27

    Background

The small heat shock protein hsp27 is constitutively expressed in most cell lines. The expression level is increased in response to environmental stress. Activation of the p38 kinases results in subsequent activation of MAPKAP2 that phosphorylates hsp27 at Ser15, Ser78 and Ser82.Synonyms: 28 kDa heat shock protein, Estrogen-regulated 24 kDa protein, HSP25, HSP28, Heat shock 27 kDa protein, Heat shock protein beta-1, SRP27, Stress-responsive protein 27

    Gene ID

    3315

    UniProt

    P04792

    Pathways

MAPK Signaling, Regulation of Actin Filament Polymerization, Signaling Events mediated by VEGFR1 and VEGFR2, Negative Regulation of intrinsic apoptotic Signaling, VEGF Signaling
