| Description | HSP 27 also referred to as the Estrogen-Regulated 24K protein and HSP 28, is one of several small heat shock proteins (HSP) produced by all organisms studied. HSP 27 synthesis is induced by elevated temperature, as well as estrogen in hormone responsive cells. Interestingly, human HSP 27 also shares greater than 50% homology with low molecular weight Drosophila HSPs and mammalian a-crystalline lens protein. Because of the estrogen responsive nature of HSP 27, this protein has been studied extensively in human estrogen responsive tissues such as cervix, endometrium and breast tissue. This work has led to the suggestion that HSP 27 may be a useful marker in classifying various hormone sensitive tumors. |

Application Details: Hsp27 (Human) antibody
| Application | ELISA, Immunohistochemistry ((Frozen Sections) (IHC) (fro)), Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed Sections) (IHC (f)), Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p)), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blotting (WB) |
| Application Notes | Immunohistochemistry: use at a dilution of 1:500 Western Blot: use at a dilution of 1:500 Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~24 kDa protein representing HSP 27 in MCF-7 cell extract. Immunohistochemical staining of human cervix results in intense cytoplasmic staining of the epithelium within the parabasal cell layer. |
| Purity | Ascites |
| Buffer | PBS with 0.05% sodium azide |
| Storage | Aliquot and store at -20 C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles. |
