| Specificity | Reacts with Protein Gene Product 9.5 (PGP 9.5). The antibody recognizes an epitope near the aminoterminus and stains neuronal cell bodies and axons in the CNS and periphery, small nerve fibres in peripheral tissues, neuroendocrine cells in the pituitary, thyroid, pancreas and tumours of the DNES. Cross reactivity: human and rat. |

| Application Notes | Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: 1/50- 1/200. Antigen is stable in formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections, however we recommend fixation in 95% ethanol/5% acetic acid for 2-3 hours prior to paraffin embedding followed by HRP-anti-mouse IgG rather than PAP for optimum visualisation. Specimens which have not been pre-fixed in acetic-acid/alcohol can be stained using the microwave-citrate method. Western blot to be determined. ELISA (1/6k – 1/25K). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
