| Specificity | This antibody stains neuronal cell bodies and axons in the CNS and periphery, small nerve fibers in peripheral tissues, neuroendocrine cells in the pituitary, thyroid, pancreas and tumors of the DNES. It also stains neuroendocrine cells in human adult gut (unlike clone 31A3). Clones 31A3 and 13C4 each recognise a different epitope towards the N-terminus of the protein. Clone 13C4 reacts with PGP 9.5 from human, rat and guinea pig. |

| Application Notes | Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin embedded tissues (dilute 1:50-1:400,,, The antigen is stable in formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections, however we recommend fixation in 95% ethanol/5% acetic acid for 2-3 hours prior to paraffin embedding. This fixation can replaced by standard methods if the sections are subjected to microwave pre-treatment in citrate buffer). ELISA (EPT: 1/160K in a simple ELISA using native protein coated at 100 ng/well.). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
