Specificity	ARNA-3 is excellent for detection of transcription activity, e.g. puffs in polytene chromosomes. Reacts with RNA polymerase II (Mr 175,000 subunit of RNAP II) in biological materials. Reactive polypeptides after SDS-PAGE: 200 kD band of nonphosphorylated and 240 kD band of phosphorylated Pol IIA. Epitope recognized: 794DDYGPESRGFVENSYLA822. Reacts with human, insects. Reacts with Drosophila chromosomes, PTK-2, HeLa, Hep2.

Application Notes	Suitable for frozen tissue, cell culture and immunoblotting (Western). 1:100 for immunohistochemical applications (recommended fixation conditions for cells: incubate in 2% paraformaldehyde in PBS for 10 min, wash in PBS for 5 min, incubate in 0.2% Triton X-100 in PBS for 5 min, wash in PBS for 5 min). Incubation time: 1 h at RT for immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Buffer	This antibody is supplied as liquid supernatant concentrate.
Storage	Store at 2 - 8°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
