| Description | Steroid and thyroid hormones and retinoic acid regulate a complex array of geneexpression activity via intracellular receptor transcription factors belonging to theligand-dependent nuclear receptor superfamily. Adding to the complexity of function ofthese transcription factors are associated proteins known as coactivators andcorepressors which, as their names suggest, enhance or depress transcription activity ofthe nuclear receptor with which they associate. Silencing Mediator of Retinoic acid andThyroid hormone receptor (SMRT) and nuclear receptor corepressor (N-CoR) arerelated transcriptional corepressors which contain two distinct domains capable ofinteracting with unliganded nuclear receptors to repress their basal transcriptionalactivity. ChIP: Use 3ul for 10<,sup>,6<,/sup>, cells.IHC-Fr: Use at a dilution of 1/50.Immunohistochemical staining of SMRT in HeLa cells with this antibody results innuclear staining.WB: Use at a dilution of 1/250. Detects a band of approximately220-250 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 274 kDa). Can be blocked with<,ab4909>,NCoR 2 / SMRTpeptide<,/ab>,Not tested in otherapplications.Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. * Other applications have not been tested. |
