Specificity This antibody recognizes a c-erbB-2 protein, which is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the c-erbB family. It is closely related in structure to the epidermal growth factor receptor. c-erbB-2 oncoprotein is detectable in a proportion of breast and other adenocarcinomas, as well as transitional cell carcinomas. In the case of breast cancer, expression determined by immunohistochemistry has been shown to be associated with poor prognosis. This antibody cross reacts with Human. Cellular Localization: Cell membrane.

Application Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p))
Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections. Use 1/100 in an ABC method. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. Use breast carcinoma as positive control. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Buffer This antibody is supplied as liquid tissue culture supernatant with 0.05% sodium azide as preservative.
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 4-8°C for one month or at –20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
