| Description | ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter genes are involved in the regulation of theamount of dietary cholesterol retained in the body. The ABC transporter ABCG1(ABC8) is expressed on the cell surface and in intracellular compartments ofcholesterol-laden macrophages and is induced in monocyte-derived macrophagesduring cholesterol influx mediated by acetylated low-density lipoprotein. In contrast, lipidefflux in cholesterol-laden macrophages, mediated by the cholesterol acceptor HDL(3),suppresses the expression of ABCG1. |

The theoretical molecular weight of ABCG1 is ~75.6 kDa, as seen by Western blot.Preliminary results suggest that this antibody may be useful for immunofluorescence onmouse ABCG1 overexpressed in HEK293 cells. Suggested Starting Dilution: Western Blot: 1:2,500 (ECL)*Optimal working dilutions should be determined by the investigator. |
