| Description | CD86 is one of two ligands (the other is CD80) for CD152 (CTLA4) and CD28. CD86 acts as co-stimulatory molecule in eliciting T cell help during antigen presentation. Antigen presentation in the absence of sufficient co-stimulation involving CD86/CD80 can induce tolerance. CD86 appears to play a role distinct from CD80 in T helper cell differentiation. CD86 is rapidly induced on the surface of activated B cells, T cells or monocytes and is expressed at high levels on dendritic cells. It is also found on malignant Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg (H-RS) cells in Hodgkins disease. |
| Clone | B72-H2 |
| Host | Mouse |
| Specificity | Monoclonal Anti-Human CD86 recognizes the extracellular domain of human CD86. It does not detect the extracellular domain of CD80. |
