Description	CD5 is a lymphocyte surface molecule with a molecular weight of 67 kDa. It is exprimed by 95% of thymocytes and app. 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. In lymph nodes the antigen is detected in the T-cell region mainly. CD5 is over-expressed in leukaemia and T-cell lymphoma and may also be detected in a subpopulation of activated B-cells.
