| Description | Filamin functions as a crosslinking protein forming a flexible link between two actin filaments. It is composed of two identical polypeptide chains each joined to the other at one end, with an actin binding site at the other. It is present in human platelets, lymphocytes, fibroblasts and smooth muscle actin. |

| Application Notes | Western Blotting: use at a concentration of 1-2ug / ml for 2hrs at RT. Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): use at a concentration of 1-2ug / ml for 30 min at RT. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user. By Western blot, this antibody detects a band of 250 kDa, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of Filamin. Immunohistochemical staining of formalin / paraffin tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. |
