Specificity Anti human IgG
Characteristics Reagent to be used in pathogen-specific IgM ELISA. It is designed to remove human IgG by immunoprecipitation with polyclonal anti-human IgG antibodies.
Application Notes The Rheumatoid Factor Removal Solution can remove Rheumatoid Factor levels up to 3.000 IU/mL.
Comment

Early diagnosis of infectious disease is accomplished by measuring pathogen-specific IgM antibodies, which are the first line of humoral immune-defence after the infection occurs. The determination of the specific IgM antibodies may be hampered by the presence of IgG antibodies, competing with the IgM antibodies for antigen binding sites which can result in false negative IgM results. Also the presence of rheumatoid factors can cause false positive IgM results. The Rheumatoid Factor Removal Solution is designed to remove human IgG and Rheumafactors by immunoprecipitation with polyclonal anti-human IgG antibodies.

Protocol Reagent and samples must be at room temperature (18-26 °C) before use in the assay.
Place one drop (accordingly 45-50 μL) of the RFS in a suitable reaction vial (1.5 ml).
Add 5 μL sample (human serum) = serum dilution 1:10, mix thoroughly.
Add 450 μL DIL (sample diluent, supplied with the pathogen-specific IgM ELISA kit), to the vial (final target dilution = 1:100), mix well. If other dilutions are recommended for the pathogen-specific IgM ELISA you are using, then adjust the amount of sample diluent accordingly.
Incubate for 15 minutes at room temperature (18-26 °C).
Pipette respective amount of the stripped solution into the wells according to the instructions in the pathogen-specific IgM ELISA kit package insert.
