Human Protection of Telomeres 1 Homolog (S. Pombe) (POT1) interaction partners

  1. We found that NEK6 (show NEK6 Antibodies)-mediated phosphorylation of TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies) Ser255 in G2/M phase regulates the association between telomerase activity and TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies). Furthermore, we found evidence that POT1 negatively regulates TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies) phosphorylation because the level of Ser255 phosphorylation was elevated when telomeres were elongated by a POT1 mutant lacking its OB-fold domains

  2. Coats plus is caused by a defect in POT1/CST (show GAL3ST1 Antibodies)-dependent telomere fill-in

  3. Downregulation of Protection of Telomeres 1 expression in myelodysplastic syndromes with 7q deletion.

  4. The conservation between fission yeast Tpz1-Pot1 and human TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies)-POT1 interactions resulted in mapping a human melanoma-associated (show ZNF654 Antibodies) POT1 mutation (A532P) to the TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies)-POT1 interface.

  5. Missense variant p.R117C is associated with cardiac angiosarcoma in TP-53 (show TP53 Antibodies) negative Li-Fraumeni-like families. Mutation carriers show reduced telomere-bound POT1 levels, abnormally long telomeres and increased telomere fragility.

  6. OB-fold domain 1 of human POT1 recognizes both telomeric and non-telomeric DNA motifs

  7. these data provide a molecular basis by which POT1-TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies) increases the processivity of telomerase15. Further, we show that this increased processivity may arise from the dynamic sliding of POT1-TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies) that induces fast translocation of telomerase.

  8. Expression of shelterin component POT1 is associated with decreased telomere length and immunity condition in humans with severe aplastic anemia.

  9. TMPyP4 (meso-tetra(N-methyl-4-pyridyl)porphine) has been widely used as G-quadruplex binding ligand, which stabilized the G-quadruplex in vitro and in cellulo, resulting in down-regulation of pot1 gene transcription.

  10. the participation of POT1 in the transformation process from MGUS to MM, and provide evidence of this gene as a useful prognostic factor in MM as well as a possible molecular target to design new therapeutic strategies.

Mouse (Murine) Protection of Telomeres 1 Homolog (S. Pombe) (POT1) interaction partners

  1. demonstrated that cells expressing TIN2DeltaTPP1 instead of wild-type TIN2 (show TINF2 Antibodies) phenocopy the POT1a,b knockout setting without showing additional phenotypes

  2. The results of this study found telomere uncapping by Pot1a inactivation resulted in an Atm (show ATM Antibodies)-dependent loss of cerebellar interneurons and granule neuron precursors in the mouse nervous system. The

  3. shelterin protein TIN2 (show TINF2 Antibodies) can protect chromosome ends as a TRF2 (show TERF2 Antibodies)-tethered TIN2 (show TINF2 Antibodies)/TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies)/POT1 complex that lacks a physical connection to TRF1 (show TERF1 Antibodies)

  4. Simultaneous inactivation of Pot1a and p53 (show TP53 Antibodies) resulted in endometrial intraepithelial carcinoma-like lesions in transgenic mice.

  5. Telomere protection by TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies)/POT1 requires tethering to TIN2 (show TINF2 Antibodies).

  6. POT1a degradation resulted in rapid and reversible activation of the ATR (show ATR Antibodies) pathway in G1 and S/G2 (show STRN3 Antibodies).

  7. The ability of mPot1 to unfold the antiparallel tetraplex of the mouse telomeric DNA is required for telomerase-mediated telomere elongation.

  8. TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies) deletion resulted in the release of POT1a and POT1b from chromatin and loss of these proteins from telomeres, indicating that TPP1 (show TPP1 Antibodies) is required for the telomere association of POT1a and POT1b but not for their stability.

  9. Our results suggest that POT1a is crucial for the maintenance of both telomere integrity and overall genomic stability.

  10. We conclude that mouse telomeres require two distinct POT1 proteins whereas human telomeres have one.

Pig (Porcine) Protection of Telomeres 1 Homolog (S. Pombe) (POT1) interaction partners

  1. The tissue expression analysis indicated that the swine POT1 gene is differentially expressed in tissues including muscle, heart, liver, fat, kidney, lung, pancreas and spleen.

POT1 Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

This gene is a member of the telombin family and encodes a nuclear protein involved in telomere maintenance. Specifically, this protein functions as a member of a multi-protein complex that binds to the TTAGGG repeats of telomeres, regulating telomere length and protecting chromosome ends from illegitimate recombination, catastrophic chromosome instability, and abnormal chromosome segregation. Increased transcriptional expression of this gene is associated with stomach carcinogenesis and its progression. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
