  1. these data unveil an involvement of phospho-Ku70 in fast but inaccurate DNA repair; a new paradigm linked to both the deregulation of canonical nonhomologous end-joining and the resistance of malignant cells

  2. Data suggest that heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) interacts with both Ku autoantigens Ku70 and Ku86 to induce defective non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) repair activity and genomic instability.

  3. Our results demonstrate that the phosphorylation-mediated dissociation of Ku70/80 from DSBs frees DNA ends, allowing the initiation of HR in S phase and providing a mechanism of DSB repair pathway choice in mammalian cells.

  4. retinoblastoma tumor suppressor protein (show TP53 Antibodies) variants disabled for the interaction with XRCC5 (show XRCC5 Antibodies) and XRCC6, including a cancer-associated variant, are unable to support canonical non-homologous end-joining despite being able to confer cell-cycle control

  5. the results of the present study suggested that Ku70 acetylation mediated TSA (show PRDX2 Antibodies)-induced apoptosis in CRC (show CALR Antibodies) cells. In addition, Ku70 was found to be indispensable in TSA (show PRDX2 Antibodies)-induced apoptosis due to its role in protecting Bax (show BAX Antibodies) from proteosomal degradation.

  6. A direct interaction between Ku70/86 and BRG1 (show SMARCA4 Antibodies) brings together SWI (show SMARCA1 Antibodies)/SNF (show SNRPA Antibodies) remodeling capabilities and TOP2beta (show TOP2B Antibodies) activity to enhance the transcriptional response to hormone stimulation.

  7. Ku70 is a novel Mcl-1 (show MCL1 Antibodies) deubiquitinase that could be a potential target for cancer therapy by manipulating Mcl-1 (show MCL1 Antibodies) deubiquitination.

  8. SMAR1 (show BANP Antibodies)-mediated regulation of repair and apoptosis via a complex crosstalk involving Ku70, HDAC6 (show HDAC6 Antibodies) and Bax (show BAX Antibodies).

  9. Polymorphism in XRCC6 gene is associated with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.

  10. Both the CG carriers/G allele carriers of rs2267437 (XRCC6) and the haplotype AT/CC established by the SNPs of XRCC5 (show XRCC5 Antibodies) are associated with ESCC (Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma) susceptibility.

Mouse (Murine) X-Ray Repair Complementing Defective Repair in Chinese Hamster Cells 6 (XRCC6) interaction partners

  1. Bax deficiency appeared to delay the development of emphysema. This study suggests that enhanced Bax activity exacerbates the negative impact of Ku70 deletion

  2. Ku (ku70/ku80 (show XRCC5 Antibodies) heterodimer)roles in nonhomologous end joining and base excision repair pathways of DNA repair are overviewed.

  3. A novel role for free Ku70 and free Ku80 (show XRCC5 Antibodies) in altering base excision repair.

  4. A novel function of Ku70 essential for colon homeostasis.

  5. Overexpression of Bcl2 rescues the hematopoietic stem cell defect in Ku70-deficient mice by restoration of quiescence.

  6. This study highlights Ku70 as an important player not only in maintaining genomic stability through NHEJ-dependent functions, but also in regulating pancreatic beta-cell proliferation, a novel NHEJ-independent function.

  7. Ku70/80 binds to DNA double strand breaks (DSB) in all cell cycle stages and is likely actively displaced from DSB ends to free the DNA ends for DNA end resection and thus homologous recombination to occur.

  8. The findings suggest that Artemis (show DCLRE1C Antibodies) can work in not only the Ku-dependent repair process, but also the Ku-independent process at DNA double-strand break in living epithelial cells.

  9. These findings clearly indicate that Ku70 plays a key role in regulation of the Ku80 (show XRCC5 Antibodies) expression level in and the radioresistance of lung epithelial cells.

  10. Ku70/86 binds to the Apaf1 (show APAF1 Antibodies) promoter and represses its activity.

X-Ray Repair Complementing Defective Repair in Chinese Hamster Cells 6 (XRCC6) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

The p70/p80 autoantigen is a nuclear complex consisting of two subunits with molecular masses of approximately 70 and 80 kDa. The complex functions as a single-stranded DNA-dependent ATP-dependent helicase. The complex may be involved in the repair of nonhomologous DNA ends such as that required for double-strand break repair, transposition, and V(D)J recombination. High levels of autoantibodies to p70 and p80 have been found in some patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
