    Background
    SPTBN2, also named as KIAA0302, belongs to the spectrin family. It probably plays an important role in neuronal membrane skeleton. Defects in SPTBN2 are the cause of spinocerebellar ataxia type 5 (SCA5). The antibody is specific to SPTBN2.
