  1. Findings establish that Gpc4 acts at the interface of extrinsic and intrinsic signal regulation to fine tune stem cell fate.

  2. data identify glypicans as a family of novel astrocyte-derived molecules that are necessary and sufficient to promote glutamate (show GRIN1 Antibodies) receptor clustering and receptivity and to induce the formation of postsynaptically functioning CNS synapses

  3. complex pattern of glypican-4 mRNA localization at embryonic days 7-10.5, including sites in the anterior forebrain neuroepithelium, branchial arches, optic and otic vesicles, limb buds and somites

Zebrafish Glypican 4 (GPC4) interaction partners

  1. novel mechanism for Wnt5b (show WNT5B Antibodies) and Gpc4 regulation of chondrocyte behavior that is independent of the core Wnt (show WNT2 Antibodies)/PCP (show PRCP Antibodies) molecules and differs from their collaborative action of controlling cell movements during gastrulation

  2. glypican4 mutants do not have decreased proteolysis of ECM substrates, but instead have increased cell surface cadherin protein expression and increased intercellular adhesion.

  3. These findings implicate Gpc4 in the regulation of zebrafish cartilage and bone morphogenesis.

Glypican 4 (GPC4) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

Cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans are composed of a membrane-associated protein core substituted with a variable number of heparan sulfate chains. Members of the glypican-related integral membrane proteoglycan family (GRIPS) contain a core protein anchored to the cytoplasmic membrane via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol linkage. These proteins may play a role in the control of cell division and growth regulation. The GPC4 gene is adjacent to the 3' end of GPC3 and may also play a role in Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome.
