The sialyltransferase ST3GAL6 influences homing and survival in multiple myeloma.
the occurrence of CD75s- and iso-CD75s-gangliosides in tumor tissues is largely independent of the transcriptional expression of ST6GAL1 (show ST6GAL1 ELISA Kits) and ST3GAL6
Expression of ST3Gal IV (show ST3GAL4 ELISA Kits) in several gastrointestinal cell lines is correlated with the expression of sialyl Lewis x (show FUT4 ELISA Kits) at the cell surface.
Epigenetic changes in a group of glycosyltransferases including B4GALNT2 (show B4GALNT2 ELISA Kits) and ST3GAL6 represent a malignant phenotype of gastric cancer caused by silencing of the activity of these enzymes
Coordinated participation of both ST3Gal-VI and ST3Gal-IV (show ST3GAL4 ELISA Kits) in the synthesis of functional selectin ligands.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the sialyltransferase family. Members of this family are enzymes that transfer sialic acid from the activated cytidine 5'-monophospho-N-acetylneuraminic acid to terminal positions on sialylated glycolipids (gangliosides) or to the N- or O-linked sugar chains of glycoproteins. This protein has high specificity for neolactotetraosylceramide and neolactohexaosylceramide as glycolipid substrates and may contribute to the formation of selectin ligands and sialyl Lewis X, a carbohydrate important for cell-to-cell recognition and a blood group antigen. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms.
