Description
The specificity of staining by monoclonal antibodies to target antigens should be verifiedby establishing the amount of non-specific antibody binding. Especially at higherconcentration (more than 15 µg/ml) the antibody staining usually has consignablebackground. To this end a non-reactive immunoglobulin of the same isotype is included asa Negative Control for each specific monoclonal antibody used in a particularimmunoassay.

Specificity
This Mouse IgG2a monoclonal antibody (clone PPV-04) reacts with undefined epitope on aplant pathogen. Negative Species: Human, Porcine, Mouse, Rat, other species Not tested (expectedNegative). The monoclonal antibody PPV-04, generated against a plant pathogen, does notcross-react with other species, and hence all the background that could be observed whenworking with this antibody would be a result of general nonspecific interactions betweenan Mouse IgG2a molecule and the respective sample under the particular conditions. Thisshall help the customer to set up the experimental conditions so that the nonspecificbinding of any antibody is abolished. Add. Information: Usage: The reagent is intended as isotype control for flow cytometry analysis to establishthe amount of non-specific antibody binding. For your particular experiment, use the sameconcentration of this isotype control antibody as the recommended working concentrationof the antigen-specific antibody. If under particular experimental conditions thebackground signal of the isotype control is too high (usually when working concentrationsof used antibodies are above 10 µg/ml of incubation mixture), change theconditions of your experiment to reduce the background.

Application Notes
Flow Cytometry. Control Experiments: The antibody is suitable for control experiments when performing cellsurface staining as well as intracellular staining. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
