Antigen
Alternative Name CD25 / IL2RA (IL2RA Antibody Abstract)
Background CD25 is derived from a 272 amino acid precursor to yield a 251 amino acid monomeric receptor of ~53 kDa which acts as the low affinity receptor for IL-2. CD25 associates with the IL-2 receptor β (CD122) and common γ chains (CD132) to form the high affinity IL-2R complex. CD25 is expressed by activated lymphocytes (Jackson et al. 1990, Butcher et al. 1990). Defects in CD4+/ CD25+ reglatory T cells have been implicated in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diabetes (Lindley et al. 2005) and other autoimmune conditions (Sakaguchi et al. 1995).Synonyms: IL-2 receptor alpha subunit, IL-2-RA, IL2-RA, Interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain, TAC antigen, p55
Gene ID 3559
UniProt P01589
Research Area CD Antigens, Surface Receptors of Immune Cells, Cytokines, Receptors, Inflammation
Pathways JAK-STAT Signaling
