Mouse (Murine) Regulator of G-Protein Signaling 1 (RGS1) interaction partners

  1. Rgs1 knockdown increased the size of germinal centers, but decreased the frequency of T follicular helper cells.

  2. Rgs1 has a role in leukocyte trafficking and vascular inflammation

  3. Variations in Gnai2 (show GNAI2 PLURAL_@9242@) and Rgs1 expression affect chemokine receptor (show CCR1 PLURAL_@9242@) signaling and the organization of secondary lymphoid organs.

  4. RGS1 can modulate the expression of costimulatory molecules and cytokine secretion, and interrupt Toll (show TLR4 Antibodies) like receptor signal pathways, which suggest that RGS1 may play a role in regulating immune responses.

  5. Rgs1(-/-) mice possess B cells that respond excessively and desensitize improperly to the chemokines CXCL12 (show CXCL12 Antibodies) and CXCL13 (show CXCL13 Antibodies). Many of the B-cell follicles in the spleens of Rgs1(-/-) mice have germinal centers even in the absence of immune stimulation.

  7. RGS1 and TNFRSF1A (show TNFRSF1A Antibodies) polymorphisms tended to be associated with reduced attack severity in Multiple sclerosis.

  8. RGS1 is largely upregulated, whereas RGS2 (show RGS2 Antibodies) is downregulated in the majority of solid tumors, whereas RGS5 (show RGS5 Antibodies) transcripts are greatly increased in eight subtypes of lymphoma with no reports of downregulation in hematological malignancies

  9. Markers in the RGS1 gene might be in linkage disequilibrium with a protective allele that reduces the risk of anxiety and depressive disorders.

  10. Elevated RGS1 levels profoundly reduce T cell migration to lymphoid-homing chemokines

RGS1 Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

This gene encodes a member of the regulator of G-protein signalling family. This protein is located on the cytosolic side of the plasma membrane and contains a conserved, 120 amino acid motif called the RGS domain. The protein attenuates the signalling activity of G-proteins by binding to activated, GTP-bound G alpha subunits and acting as a GTPase activating protein (GAP), increasing the rate of conversion of the GTP to GDP. This hydrolysis allows the G alpha subunits to bind G beta/gamma subunit heterodimers, forming inactive G-protein heterotrimers, thereby terminating the signal.
