  1. results indicate significant correlation between the Lauren and Goseki histopathological classifications of gastric cancer and TS expression in tumor cells, and suggest that high TS expression may be a positive prognostic marker with regard to DFS (show FST Antibodies) in patients with gastric cancer without involvement of regional lymph nodes who underwent radical surgical treatment and were not treated with preoperative chemotherapy.

  2. High titers of both TYMS and PDLIM1 (show PDLIM1 Antibodies) serum autoantibodies were significantly more prevalent in breast cancer cases than in controls.

  3. Studies suggest that dietary folate intake and gender may modify the associations between 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR (show MTHFR Antibodies)) and thymidylate synthase (TS) polymorphisms and adult leukemia risk.

  4. The expressions of TYMS, TUBB3 (show TUBB3 Antibodies) and STMN1 (show STMN1 Antibodies) were significantly associated with the clinicopathological characteristics of age, gender and family history of gastric cancer, but not with differentiation, growth patterns, metastasis and TNM (show ODZ1 Antibodies) staging in patients with gastric cancer.

  5. High expression of TYMS is associated with Colorectal cancer.

  6. This study identified a novel single repeat in the TYMS gene which might have an impact on the expression of this gene, which needs to be confirmed by functional studies.

  7. There were no other associations between single -nucleotide polymorphisms and the efficacy of MTX (show MTX1 Antibodies) treatment. CONCLUSIONS: The MTHFR (show MTHFR Antibodies) 677CC and GGH (show GGH Antibodies) 401TT and CT genotypes were associated with a reduction in the number of MTX (show MTX1 Antibodies)-related adverse events.

  8. Our findings emphasize the pivotal relevance of RNAi as an effective tool for increasing the therapeutic efficacy of PMX (show PRRX1 Antibodies), a cornerstone in the treatment regimens of Malignant mesothelioma thereby, raising the possibility for the development of a novel therapeutic strategy, combination therapy of TS-shRNA and PMX (show PRRX1 Antibodies), that can surpass many of the currently applied, but less effective, therapeutic regimens against lethal MPM.

  9. treatment response, survival, and the associations between KRAS mutation status and tumour expression levels of BRCA1, TYMS and SRC (show SRC Antibodies) retrospectively in a cohort of patients with non-small cell lung cancer, were evaluated.

Thymidylate Synthetase (TYMS) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

Thymidylate synthase catalyzes the methylation of deoxyuridylate to deoxythymidylate using 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate (methylene-THF) as a cofactor. This function maintains the dTMP (thymidine-5-prime monophosphate) pool critical for DNA replication and repair. The enzyme has been of interest as a target for cancer chemotherapeutic agents. It is considered to be the primary site of action for 5-fluorouracil, 5-fluoro-2-prime-deoxyuridine, and some folate analogs. Expression of this gene and that of a naturally occuring antisense transcript rTSalpha (GeneID:55556) vary inversely when cell-growth progresses from late-log to plateau phase.
