Mouse (Murine) phosphodiesterase 1B, Calmodulin-Dependent (PDE1B) interaction partners

  1. These results prove that the kinetic properties of PDE (show TWIST1 Proteins) isoforms play a major role in determining intracellular cAMP signals in response to physiological elevation of [Ca2 (show CA2 Proteins)+]i.

  2. Data suggest a role for PDE1B in locomotor responses to psychostimulants through modulation of DARPP32 (show PPP1R1B Proteins)-dependent pathways; however, this modulation does not necessarily impact other behaviors, such as anxiety or learning.

  3. The present studies demonstrate increased striatal dopamine turnover in PDE1B knockout mice associated with increased baseline motor activity and an exaggerated locomotor response to dopaminergic stimulants such as methamphetamine and amphetamine.

Human phosphodiesterase 1B, Calmodulin-Dependent (PDE1B) interaction partners

  1. The c.1618G>A, p.Gly540Ser substitution in CNGA3 (show CNGA3 Proteins) was identified as the causative mutation for a novel form of ACHM in Awassi sheep. Gene augmentation therapy restored vision in the affected sheep. This novel mutation provides a large-animal model that is valid for most human CNGA3 (show CNGA3 Proteins) ACHM patients; the majority of them carry missense rather than premature-termination mutations.

Cow (Bovine) phosphodiesterase 1B, Calmodulin-Dependent (PDE1B) interaction partners

  1. The PDE1B gene is a candidate gene for carcass traits of beef cattle.

PDE1B Protein Profile

Protein Summary

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) family, and PDE1 subfamily. Members of the PDE1 family are calmodulin-dependent PDEs that are stimulated by a calcium-calmodulin complex. This PDE has dual-specificity for the second messengers, cAMP and cGMP, with a preference for cGMP as a substrate. cAMP and cGMP function as key regulators of many important physiological processes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
