Suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) 1 - A link between inflammation and insulin resistance

Inflammation is associated with peripheral insulin resistance, which dysregulates nutrient homeostasis and leads to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. A subset of cytokines, i.e. inflammation associated proteins, including IL2 and interferon (IFN)-gamma can induce the expression of SOCS1. Therefore SOCS1 may represent a potent link between inflammation and insulin resistance. Antibodies-online.com offers a well established anti-mouse SOCS1 antibody for ELISA and Western Blotting.
