GRB2: Insulin signal transduction and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Growth factor receptor-bound protein 2 (Grb2) is an adaptor protein involved in signal transduction and cell communication. GRB2 plays a central role in signaling by receptor protein-tyrosine kinases. GRB2 links the insulin receptor to Ras signaling pathways and the downstream mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK), e.g. ERK p42/p44, hence playing an important role in actions induced by insulin. The precise role of GRB2 in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is under ongoing investigation. Supporting these efforts, this anti-GRP2 antibody can be used in various assays like Western Blotting (WB), ELISA and Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
