Cytochrome Oxidase Subunit II (COX2): Marker for mitochondria in recent plant-research publication

The COX2 enzyme is a component of the respiratory chain complex involved in the transfer of electrons from cytochrome c to oxygen. COX2 is located in the inner membrane of eukaryotic mitochondria, including plants, and can therefore be utilized as a marker for mitochondrial content. antibodies-online.com offers a chicken IgY antibody against COX2, which has been utilized in a recent study. This antibody has been used for Western Blotting (WB) in the determination of the purity of cell-lysate fractions of membrane and cytosol.
