Red fluorescent protein: Antibody against recombinant protein expression marker in recent study

Red fluorescent protein (RFP) can be used as a label of forced expression of recombinant proteins in various cell systems. The monoclonal 5F8 antibody recognizes various red fluorescent proteins derived from DsRed and RFP-tagged fusion proteins, like RFP1, Cherry, Plum and Orange, but not GFP. A recent study demonstrates a successful application of the antibody in transfected bone marrow stromal cells.
