A recent study utilized an adiponektin ELISA kit that is available on antibodies-online. The study examined whether plasma adiponectin levels are correlated with osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). Adiponektin may be a useful biomarker, since patients with nontraumatic ONFH had significantly lower plasma levels of adiponectin than the healthy controls. Other factors, such as plasma LDL, HDL, apoA1, apo B, Cholesterol, TGs and CRP showed no correlation.
