Chloroplastic Glutathione Peroxidase (Gpx) protects from oxidative stress induced damage

Chloroplastic Glutathione Peroxidase (GPX) belongs to the group of enzymes that protect cells against oxidative damage generated by reactive oxygen species (ROS). An antibody against GPX, that is available on antibodies-online, has been used in a study that has been published recently. The researchers addressed the question what effect reactive oxygen species have on the cellular growth rate, cell viability and morphology in Saccharomyces cerevisiae KNU5377Y and BY4741.
