Background IL1 Receptor II is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin 1 receptor family. This protein binds interleukin alpha (IL1A), interleukin beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor, type I(IL1R1/IL1RA), and acts as a decoy receptor that inhibits the activity of its ligands. Interleukin 4 (IL4) is reported to antagonize the activity of interleukin 1 by inducing the expression and release of this cytokine. This gene and three other genes form a cytokine receptor gene cluster on chromosome 2q12. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been reported.Synonyms: CD121 antigen-like family member B, CDw121b, IL-1R-2, IL-1R-beta, IL1RB, Interleukin-1 receptor type II

Application Notes This IgG fraction antibody of anti-Human IL-1 Receptor Type II (IL-1RII) has been tested foruse in ELISA, Radioimmunoassays, Flow cytometry/Immunocytochemistry andImmunoprecipitation. Reactivity in other immunoassays is unknown. Recommended Dilutions: The product has been assayed for the ability toimmunoprecipitate antigen. A dilution range of 1: 400 to 1: 800 is suggested for thisimmunoassay. For Immunoprecipitation, pre-clearing with a non-specific rabbit IgG ishelpful to reduce background. This product has been assayed by immunoblot using HRPGoat-anti-Rabbit IgG [H&L] (R1364HRP) and TMB as a substrate. A working dilution range of1: 200 to 1: 400 is suggested for this application. This product has been assayed by ELISAagainst soluble (extracellular) IL-1RII using HRP Conjugated Anti-Rabbit IgG [H&L] (Goat)(R1364HRP) and ABTS as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature. A workingdilution range of 1: 1,000 to 1: 2000 is suggested for this product. For use in ELISA formats,this antibody is best used as the second antibody in combination with a monoclonalantibody as a capture antibody. This product has been assayed by radioimmunoassayagainst antigen. A dilution of 1: 8,000 is suggested for this immunoassay
