Human Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 2, Group C, Member 1 (NR2C1) interaction partners

  1. DRED is a 540 kDa complex containing the nuclear orphan receptors TR2 and TR4, which form a heterodimer that binds to the epsilon and gamma globin promoter DR1 sites. TR2 & 4 mRNAs are expressed at all stages of murine and human erythropoiesis.

  2. TR2 that may exert an important repressor in regulating ER activity in mammary glands.

  3. TR2 and TR4 (show NR2C2 ELISA Kits) can have distinct functions. Existence of differential and bi-directional regulation between PPAR alpha (show PPARA ELISA Kits) and TR2/TR4 (show NR2C2 ELISA Kits). Possible roles in PPAR alpha (show PPARA ELISA Kits) signaling pathway in human keratinocytes.

  4. TR2 may function as a negative modulator to suppress androgen receptor function in prostate cancer. Further studies on how to control TR2 function may result in the ability to modulate AR function in prostate cancer.

  5. The NF1-A (show NFIA ELISA Kits) transcription factor plays an important role in the transcriptional activation of the TR2 gene expression via a promoter activating cis (show CISH ELISA Kits)-element.

Mouse (Murine) Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 2, Group C, Member 1 (NR2C1) interaction partners

  1. Nr2c1 may be a candidate for mediating parallel adaptive changes in cranial neural sensory specializations such as the olfactory epithelium, retina and mystacial vibrissae and in non-neural craniofacial features including teeth

  2. TR2/TR4 expression in sickle cell disease mice confers enhanced fetal hemoglobin synthesis and alleviated disease phenotypes

  3. in adult erythroid cells, TR2/TR4 (show NR2C2 ELISA Kits) bind to the embryonic beta-type globin promoters but not to the adult beta-globin (show HBB ELISA Kits) promoter.

  4. TR2 may not play essential roles in spermatogenesis and normal testis development, function, and maintenance. Alternatively, the roles of TR2 may be redundant and could be played by other close members of the nuclear receptor superfamily (TR2 receptor)

  6. These results suggest a SUMOylation-dependent partitioning and differential coregulator recruitment contribute to the maintenance of a homeostatic supply of activating, Tr2, thus fine-tuning Oct4 (show POU5F1 ELISA Kits) expression and regulating stem-cell proliferation.

  7. Silencing of the embryonic and fetal beta globin (show HBB ELISA Kits) genes is delayed in erythroid cells of Tr2 and Tr4 (show NR2C2 ELISA Kits) null mutant mice, whereas in transgenic mice expressing dominant-negative TR4 (show NR2C2 ELISA Kits) (dnTR4), human embryonic epsilon-globin (show HBe1 ELISA Kits) is activated in erythroid cells.

  8. TR2 and TR4 (show NR2C2 ELISA Kits) orphan nuclear receptors repress Gata1 (show GATA1 ELISA Kits) transcription.

  9. Retinoic acid-stimulated sequential phosphorylation, PML (show PML ELISA Kits) recruitment, and SUMOylation of nuclear receptor TR2 to suppress Oct4 (show POU5F1 ELISA Kits) expression

  10. Possible roles for TR2 and TR4 (show NR2C2 ELISA Kits) in early embryonic development by regulating key genes involved in stem cell self-renewal, commitment, and differentiation.

NR2C1 Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

This gene encodes a nuclear hormone receptor characterized by a highly conserved DNA binding domain (DBD), a variable hinge region, and a carboxy-terminal ligand binding domain (LBD) that is typical for all members of the steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily. This protein also belongs to a large family of ligand-inducible transcription factors that regulate gene expression by binding to specific DNA sequences within promoters of target genes. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined.
