Antigen
Alternative Name C-Myc (MYC Antibody Abstract)
Background C-Myc (Myc) is a sequence specific DNA binding transcription factor that regulates gene expression, especially genes involved in cell division. Myc family members contain a basic Helix-Loop-Helix leucine zipper (bHLHZ) domain. Myc family proteins associated with thousands of genes, especially those involved in cell growth and proliferation. c-Myc serves as an integrator of signal transduction, linking extracellular signals to an acute cellular growth response. Mutations and overexpression of c-Myc are associated with cell proliferation and cancer.
Molecular Weight 68 kDa
