Description
|
The human X chromosome linked Inhibitor of Apoptosis Protein (XIAP) is a major memberof the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family. XIAP functions by direct binding and inhibition ofseveral caspases, including Caspase 3, Caspase 7 and Caspase 9. During apoptosis XIAP isspecifically cleaved by Caspase 3 and partially loses its function. In addition to blockingthe apoptosis signaling pathway, XIAP can also bind several other proteins in the bonemorphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathway and act as a coupler between themembrane BMP receptor and the TAB1 TAK1 complex by binding to these proteins.

Western blot: It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis byincubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 minutes at 37°C. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
