On analyzing cyclin A and B1 (CCNA and CCNB1 (show CCNB1 Proteins)) expression, positive staining in 90% cases of PTC (show F9 Proteins) were observed. The study revealed a significant difference in expression of cyclins A and B1 between classic and non-classic variants of PTC (show F9 Proteins).
Study describes a positive feedback loop centred on cyclin A2-Cdk2 (show CDK2 Proteins) inhibition of interphase APC (show APC Proteins)/C-Cdc20 (show CDC20 Proteins) to allow further cyclin A2 accumulation and mitotic entry.
PIWIL2 has a role in promoting progression of non-small cell lung cancer by inducing CDK2 (show CDK2 Proteins) and Cyclin A expression
Cyclin A2-binding function of pUL21a contributes to the maintenance of a cell cycle state conducive for the completion of the human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) replication cycle.
HDAC10 (show HDAC10 Proteins) regulates cyclin A2 expression by deacetylating histones near the let-7 promoter.

Meioc-deficient spermatocytes that have initiated synapsis mis (show AMH Proteins)-express CYCLIN A2, which is normally expressed in mitotic spermatogonia, suggesting a failure to properly transition to a meiotic cell cycle program.
cyclin A2 controlled Mre11 (show MRE11A Proteins) abundance through a C-terminal RNA binding domain that selectively and directly binds Mre11 (show MRE11A Proteins) transcripts to mediate polysome loading and translation.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins function as regulators of CDK kinases. Different cyclins exhibit distinct expression and degradation patterns which contribute to the temporal coordination of each mitotic event. In contrast to cyclin A1, which is present only in germ cells, this cyclin is expressed in all tissues tested. This cyclin binds and activates CDC2 or CDK2 kinases, and thus promotes both cell cycle G1/S and G2/M transitions.
