Antigen
Alternative Name Glutamate receptor 1 / GLUR1 (GRIA1 Antibody Abstract)
Background Glutamic acid is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the mammalian central nervoussystem. Glutamate receptors are classified on the basis of their activation by differentagonists (1-3). GluR1, human glutamate receptor type 1, is an integral membraneprotein that is widely expressed in the human brain. The postsynaptic actions ofglutamic acid are mediated by a variety of receptors that are named according to theirselective agonists. GluR1 is known to bind a kainate subtype of agonist. It has beenfound that malfunctioning of the glutamatergic system may result in certain braindisorders and neurodegeneration (3). Alternate Names: anti-GPRC1A antibody, anti-GRM 1 antibody, anti-GRM1 alpha antibody, anti-GRM1antibody, anti-GRM1A antibody, anti-Metabotropic glutamate receptor 1 antibody,anti-mGlu1 antibody, anti-mGluR1 alpha antibody, anti-mGluR1 antibody, anti-mGluR1Aantibody.

Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
