Purpose >95% pure Annexin V, human recombinant, for detecting early stages of apoptosis and in competition binding experiments to compete with tagged annexin V conjugates by FACS/Western blotting.
Sample Type Cell Culture
Purification Purified
Purity SDS-PAGE: ≥98 %
Background Reagent for detecting early stages of apoptosis. During apoptosis, phosphatidylserine (PS) is translocated from the cytoplasmic face of the plasma membrane to the cell surface. Annexin V has a strong, Ca2+-dependent affinity for PS and therefore is used as a probe for detecting apoptosis. The unlabeled Annexin V reagent can be conjugated to any tag of choice for detection of apoptosis. The reagent can also be used in competition binding experiments to compete with tagged annexin V conjugates. Annexin V-FITC, -Cy3, -Cy5, -EGFP, -PE, PE/CY5, and -Biotin Labels are also available separately.
Alternate Names: Anchorin CII, Annexin V, Annexin-5, Calphobindin I, Endonexin II, Lipocortin V, Placental anticoagulant protein 4, lacental anticoagulant protein I, Thromboplastin inhibitor, Vascular anticoagulant-alpha, PP4, ANX5, ENX2, ANXA5, Annexin A5, Annexin-5, Annexin V, Lipocortin V, Endonexin II, Calphobindin I, CBP-I, Placental anticoagulant protein I, PAP-I, Placental anticoagulant protein 4, VAC-alpha, Anchorin CII.
