Endotoxin Level <0.1 ng/μg
Description BMPs (bone morphogenetic proteins) belong to the TGF-beta superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. As implied by their name, BMPs promote and regulate bone development, growth, remodeling and repair, in both prenatal development and postnatal growth of eye, heart, kidney, skin, and other tissues. Recombinant human BMP-6 produced from E. coli contains a mixture of monomer (15 kDa), dimer (30 kDa), and multimers. The dimer is an active polypeptide chain containing 2X142 amino acid residues.
Synonyms: Human BMP-6, BMP-6, BMP6, BMP 6, h-BMP-6, rh-BMP-6, recombinant human BMP-6, recombinant BMP-6, BMP, VGR, VGR1, BMP-6
Characteristics Biological activity: 2-12 µg/mL recombinant human BMP-6 is biologically active. The ED₅₀ as determined by dose-dependent induction of alkaline phosphatase activity with C2C12 cells is in the range of 2-12 µg/mL.
Molecular Weight monomer (15 kDa), dimer (30 kDa)
