Description
Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) is a potent mitogen for a wide range of cell types including fibroblasts, smooth muscle and connective tissue. PDGF, which is composed of a dimer of two chains termed the A chain and B chain, can be present as AA or BB homodimers or as an AB heterodimer. Human PDGF-AB is a 25.5 kDa heterodimer protein consisting of a 13.3 kDa A chain and a 12.2 kDa B chain.

Storage
The lyophilized protein is best-stored desiccated below 0 °C. Reconstituted human PDGF-AB should be stored in working aliquots at -20 °C. Reconstitution: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in 10 mM acetic acid to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 4 °C for 1 week or –20 °C for future use.
