    Background
Riboflavin kinase, also known as flavokinase, belongs to the family of transferases, specifically those transferring phosphorus-containing groups (phosphotransferases) with an alcohol group as acceptor. It is an enzyme that catalyzes the phosphorylation of riboflavin (vitamin B2) to form flavin-mononucleotide (FMN). Recombinant riboflavin kinase was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Synonyms: RIFK, RP11-422N19.2, RFK, 0610038L10Rik, AF031381, KOI 4, Riboflavin kinase, ATP:riboflavin 5' phosphotransferase, Flavokinase,. NCBI no.: NP_060809

    20.5 kDa (182 aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF.
