    Background
The FGF family plays central roles during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF19, a member of the FGF family, is a high affinity heparin dependent ligand for FGFR4. FGF19 is expressed during the brain development and embryogenesis.
