Mouse (Murine) EPH Receptor A6 Protein expressed in Human Cells - ABIN2008076
Shaut, Saneyoshi, Morgan, Knosp, Sexton, Stadler: HOXA13 directly regulates EphA6 and EphA7 expression in the genital tubercle vascular endothelia. in Developmental dynamics : an official publication of the American Association of Anatomists 2007
EPHA6, a gene implicated in retinal axon guidance, is one of HMX1 targets in eye development.
HOXA13 (show HOXA13 Proteins) directly regulates EphA6 and EphA7 (show EPHA7 Proteins) in the developing genital tubercle.
These findings suggest that EphA6, in line with a number of other Eph receptors and their ephrin ligands, is involved in neural circuits underlying aspects of learning and memory.
EphA6 mRNA expression is higher in 112 CaP tumor samples compared with benign tissues from 58 benign prostate hyperplasia patients. Positive correlation was identified between EphA6 expression and vascular invasion, neural invasion, PSA (show PLAG1 Proteins) level, and TNM (show ODZ1 Proteins) staging in CaP cases.
Two predominant genes, ephrin type A receptor 6 (EPHA6) and folliculin (FLCN (show FLCN Proteins)), with mutations exclusive to African American CRCs, are by genetic and biological criteria highly likely African American CRC (show CALR Proteins) driver genes.
During development of the retinal vasculature, migration of ligand-bearing astrocytes is slowed along Eph (show EPHA1 Proteins)-A6 expression gradient through repellent Eph (show EPHA1 Proteins)-A6 - ephrin-A1 (show EFNA1 Proteins) and -A4 signaling.
Receptor tyrosine kinase which binds promiscuously GPI- anchored ephrin-A family ligands residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling (By similarity).
